Obama signs budget agreement authored by Sen. Patty Murray and Rep. Paul Ryan

President Barack Obama signed a bipartisan Budget Agreement authored by Democratic Senator Patty Murray and GOP Representative Paul Ryan.  This is a good news for a nation where the two major political parties have been on bitter bickering for the past few years. Somehow, the war of words need to stop.

After the House passed the budget, 332-94, the Senate followed suit, 64-36.  Then the President happily signed the bill while vacationing in Hawaii.

President Obama

This what the President had to say at the time of passage, “All told, it’s a good first step away from the shortsighted, crisis-driven decision-making that has only served to act as a drag on our economy.”

Albeit this budget agreement did not fully satisfy all the concern parties, it ensured a government funding through 2015. At the same time, due to bipartisan effort, we won’t see government shutdown again and again and again and non-sense budget war of “political talking points” between Democrats and Republicans for at least 2 years. This adversarial political posturing does nothing but cripples the economy and hurt the people.

So having the budget in placed, it’s time for the president and lawmakers to rally together to spur the US economy and create jobs. It’s been long overdue.

I know they would succeed this time.  For the bedrock of  democracy — Compromise — has been reborn in Washington.

But let’s see when they start negotiating on the big elephant “Taxes and Entitlement”.
