Olivia Culpo Wins Miss Universe 2012, and Janine Tugonon as 1st Runner up
Miss Philippines, Janine Tugonon, was so close to grab the bacon. But Miss USA, Olivia Culpo, was quick enough to snap it out, leaving Tugonon to savor the First Runner up title.
I seldom watch beauty pageant, but when I turned on the TV, my wife said, “Don’t change it!” Yep, it’s Miss Universe 2012, glaring on our 55-inch TV. Fortunately, the curvy beauties have just started parading with their skimpy bikinis. So I thought why not?
After few minutes, I joined my wife arguing who’s good and not so good. But to be honest, they’re all very good. All of them are worthy to be Miss Universe. However, since I was born and grew up in the Philippines and now living in the US, I preferred ladies from my two homelands to be the “Cream of the Crop.”
As the selection process went on, while I’ve been mesmerized with towering gorgeous ladies from all over the world, my heart throbbed violently, twice: 1) When Miss Philippines was called in for top five, and 2) When Miss USA was declared the Miss Universe 2012.
Congratulation, Miss USA and Miss Philippines!!!
Although Miss USA was perfect enough, Miss Venezuela, a stunningly beautiful lady who catwalked with confidence and infectious smile, could have easily clinched the crown. The problem was, she forgot to speak in her own language. When she answered the question, somehow, I accidentally pressed my fragile wine glass to pieces. :)
Here’s the question:
If you could make a new law, what would it be?
And her response:
“I think that any leys (laws) there are in Constitution or in life, are already made. I think that we should have, uh, a straight way to go in our similar, or, eh, in our lives as is this. For example, I’m a surfer, and I think that the best wave that I can take is the wave that I wait for it. So please do our only, eh, law that we can do. Thank you, Vegas!”
I can’t help but cried! huhuhuhu…
Okay, not really… not even the heart throbbing and the wine thing. :)

But, putting the beauties aside, I was wondering though, why we, the Earthlings, chose the title Miss Universe? Are we not supposed to invite all the Galactical Systems?
Hmmmm…. No wonder, Aliens are not talking to us.
