Portraits on Negative Films and Floppy Disks by Nick Gentry
Nick Gentry, a British artist, finds art and beauty in the obsolete media materials — the negative films and floppy disks — from the ancient days. :) The artist creates elegant portrait paintings out of these otherwise trash of the 21st century. The portraits are strikingly fascinating, with neatly arranged films and disks offering a unique experience to the viewers. Enjoy these amazing portraits, along with the interesting little images in them.
Gentry has done numerous exhibitions in various galleries and museums. Currently, he has a solo exhibition curated by Opera Gallery London for and in partnership with fashion designer Ozwald Boateng. “He is best known for his floppy disk paintings and film negative artworks, placing an emphasis on recycling obsolete media and the reuse of personal objects as a central theme. Such artistic works of social commentary have been featured in galleries in the UK, USA and in cities throughout the world.”
