The painting series of mythical beauty & grace by Chie Yoshii — depicting exquisite women in romantic scenes

Japanese-born artist Chie Yoshii, currently based-in Los Angeles, explores the fascinating world of mythology in her painting series depicting exquisite women in romantic scenes, bursting with rich, bright colors. Her artwork goes beyond the mythical beauty and grace — exploring into human psyche as inspired by famous 20th century psychologist, Carl Jung. In her 2014 solo exhibition at Roq La Rue, Yoshii titled her series as “In the Darkness of Mere Being” taken from a quote by Carl Jung: “Human existence is to kindle a light in the darkness of mere being.”

Enjoy!
