Photographer Maren Klemp, based-in Oslo, Norway, explores the dark, hidden chamber of the human mind, and captures the shadows lurking from within. Each photograph depicts a woman in melancholy isolation grappling with emotional pain, and embraced by the deafening silence of nature. To enhance the dark side narratives, Klemp rendered the images in the beauty of black and white photography. And the resulting scenes as featured below are dark, mysterious and hauntingly beautiful.

Bio:

I am a fine art photographer living and working in Oslo, Norway. I studied fine art photography under professor Robert Meyer at Robert Meyer Kunsthøgskole in Oslo, and I have many years of experience in the field of fine art photography. My current interests in photography encompasses self portraiture, black and white photography in general and the use of vintage photographic equipment that infuses my images with a timeless dimension. I mostly use myself and my children as models, which makes my photography honest and true.

I have had several exhibitions in Oslo, Norway and I am the co-author of the book “Between Intervals” together with the American photographer and professor Dr. José Escobar.
