The amazing graphite & charcoal drawings of Jerameel Lu — beautifully rendered with his masterful application of shadows
Jerameel Lu, a Civil Engineer from the Philippines, analyzes and crunches numbers for his engineering job. And in his spare time, which he has little of, he explores his artistic passion, creating amazing pencil drawings. His pieces featured below are a bit dark and scary but beautifully rendered with his masterful application of shadows. It is so impeccable that seems to suggest the images are real and trying to push out of the paper. He says, “Maybe those images are my passion, trapped by my situation, trying to get free.”
He hopes that someday, with enough savings, he can quit his engineering job and freely pursue his passion in art.
Enjoy these beautiful and realistic drawings!
Artist Statement:
I’m 24 year-old aspiring hobbyist/artist from Philippines. I usually do portraits using graphite, charcoal, colored pencils & ballpoint pens. My attention to details seems like I am addicted to it.
I also attempt to learn digital paintings & wanted to learn many more mediums for my own development.
