Joseph Loughborough’s Dark, Surreal Portrait Drawings — bursting with intense melancholic emotions

British artist Joseph Loughborough, currently based-in Berlin, creates a charcoal drawing series of dark, surreal portraits accented with gold leaf, depicting the bizarre human conditions you can hardly imagine. His drawings capture the haunting and disturbing facial expressions and body postures, bursting with intense melancholic emotions. He seemed to have explored  the dark, hidden realm of the human psyche, and witnessed the horror and absurdity of its existence. Or simply… the artist has an extraordinary creative imagination!
