The Pencil Drawings of Pierre-Yves Riveau a.k.a. PEZ — beautifully capturing the dark sides of the famous cartoon characters

French artist Pierre-Yves Riveau, a.k.a. PEZ, created a graphite drawing series of some of the famous cartoon characters such as SpongeBob SquarePants, Buzz Lightyear, Patrick and more. But the series titled ‘Distroy’ seems to have dark and disturbing narratives. The pieces below, featuring decaying and damaged images filled with all kinds of graffiti, were transformed from the otherwise fun and cheerful characters. Although the series is probably not pleasing to the children, it is, however, creatively imagined and rendered. Yep, the artist has beautifully captured the dark sides of his subjects.
