The twins János and István Lukács by Janos Stekovics — A beautiful black and white portrait series of the 63-year old twin farmers.
In 1980s, Janos Stekovics, a Hungarian photographer based-in Germany, visited the twins János and István Lukács in the remote Hungarian Puszta region, and took a series of stunning black and white portraits. Stekovics photographed the simple living of the 63-year old twin farmers, who spent their entire life in the farm with no electricity. The photographs, featured below, depict the twins were pretty much in sync with each other — with the same clothes, the same bikes and more. But one thing that amazes me was the happy and content demeanor of the twins. The photographer had truly captured their beautiful life and spirit.
Enjoy!
These black and white photographs of the twins were published in a book called “Die Junggesellen“.
