Catch My Fade: a painting series of Seamus Conley — melancholy yet beautiful portraits
San Francisco based artist Seamus Conley creates paintings in melancholy mood. His series titled “Catch My Fade” exudes unbearable sadness, especially in the selected pieces below featuring children. Conley perfectly captures the sense of loss, solitude and desperation in his subjects, enhanced by a dark, dreamlike world. Each piece is bursting with emotional distress, even the ones with a child simply staring at a distance, exploring the cloudy and foggy scenery. His work is truly amazing!

Artist Statement:
Seamus Conley is a Los Angeles native, now living and working in San Francisco, California. Conley’s paintings examine the unknown, often portraying a lone figure standing on a precipice or threshold, glowing under a soft, magical light. Conley places his subjects in an otherworldly hinterland laced with narrative clues – even as they face away from the viewer and engage in private contemplation. Conley, a self taught artist, is a recipient of the Pollock Krasner Award, and his paintings have been exhibited, published, and collected in the United States and internationally.
