Mike Dargas: hyper-realistic oil paintings — surreal and amazingly beautiful with fine details
German artist Mike Dargas creates realistic paintings that look like photographs. The portraits featured here are quite stunning with incredible details, capturing the intensity of the moments that goes within the human nature of his subjects. As you scroll down and view the pieces, you will notice the apparent tone of surrealism and realism on his artwork, as he takes inspiration from Dali, Caravaggio and H.R. Giger. Artist Statement:
Mike Dargas was born 1983 in Cologne, Germany. He already starts painting as a child. Besides his early works and sketches he already uses oil colour and sells first works to friends of the family. At the age of 11 Mike presents his talent in public with road surface paintings on the “Domplatte“ in front of Cologne Cathedral. He was accepted at an art school as the only child in an adult class and learned different techniques.
