Photographer Cameron Bloom has captured the wonderful bonding moments of a family and a bird — yes, his family and a magpie bird, named Penguin. They all play, snuggle and sleep together, as one loving family.
Sure, this bonding is odd and rare, but it’s more than that — it’s amazingly beautiful and adorable. Please scroll down and enjoy the photos featuring Penguin and Cameron’s wife Sam and their three boys: Rueben, 13, Noah, 11 and Oli, 9. They will surely warm your heart. (more here: Instagram)
The Blooms first met the abandoned baby magpie in 2013 when Noah found her on the ground, as they were walking near their home in Newport, Australia. After getting some advice from a veterinarian, they took the magpie in as a pet and soon enough she became a part of the family. Although the bird hasn’t been caged but free to fly outside, she always comes back to the home and family she grew up with.
“She’s here at 3:30pm usually when the kids get home from school. She sings when they come up the driveway.”
“She usually hangs around until night and then I put her in the tree outside somewhere.
“She’s free to fly – she often will just hang out around us in the morning then when the kids go to school she’ll do her own thing.”

Cameron has recently struck a deal with Bradley Trevor Greive, a New York Times bestselling author, to write a book about the amazing story of Penguin and the Bloom family.
